Scenic Areas
The photographs encompass the authentic, breathtaking views of Blackwater and the surrounding areas. The Blackwater/Kenmare area is a very picturesque region of Kerry. The catchment area of the Blackwater River takes in some of the most unspoilt scenery in Ireland with its many lakes and mountains which were formed during the ice age.

The Stone Cottage is ideally situated between the bustling town of Kenmare and the beautiful village of Sneem. It is surrounded by a most impressive countryside including local beauty spots like Loughbrin Lake, Blackwater Pier, Templenoe Pier, Rossdohan Pier, Molls Gap, The Blackvalley and The Gap of Dunloe.

Killarney is a 20 mile drive, capturing some of Kerry's best views as you journey through Molls Gap, catching a glimpse of the BlackValley, soaking up the scenary in Ladies View, Torc Waterfall & Killarney National Park before entering the scenic town of Killarney.

Archaeology
The Blackwater area contains several very significant archaeological sites with the largest rock art complex in Ireland situated at Derrynablatha Blackwater.

Local Legends
Lough Brin is home of the legendary Lough Brin Monster and Blackwater was also home to the world's oldest cow Big Bertha who made it into the Guinness Book of Records. Big Bertha lived to the ripe old age of 49 and had a record 39 calves.
